# How to: Update a thing

Once we've created new things and we'd like to update them just like when deleting a thing we need to target the thing(s). The Update a Thing action can target one or multiple items, depending on your filter, Which is useful is you'd like to Bulk update things in your table.

Let's see an example, where we have our "posts" in a Repeating Group and we'd like to update it's content.

We can setup a workflow, when the MultilineInput's value has changed: update the related field in Supabase.

The field "Refresh Data" (true/false) is a separate feature which allow better control. Here's the breakdown:

* Enable Realtime is true and Refresh Data is false: Data will be returned via Realtime.
* Enable Realtime is true and Refresh Data is true: Data will be returned via Realtime and not via the Refresh Data function
* Enable Realtime is false and Refresh Data is false: Query will not be refreshed

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.relevat.hu/supabase.js-bubble-plugin/setup/supabase-data/how-to-update-a-thing.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
